Court Halts Implementation of Medicine Price Fixation Notification
The Lahore High Court has halted the implementation of the notification regarding the establishment of medicine prices.
As per the information provided, a petition was lodged in the Lahore High Court on behalf of Muhammad Aslam, asserting that the caretaker government's issuance of a notification to regulate medicine prices is unlawful.
The petitioner argued that the caretaker government lacks the authority to eliminate the provision for regulating drug prices from the drug act, a step that only the elected democratic government is entitled to undertake.
The application has urged the court to temporarily suspend the notification until a final decision is reached regarding the matter.
