"New Delhi: New Zealand Joins Ranks of Nations Monitoring Masala Products from India's Leading Brands MDH and Everest"

According to an international news agency report, concerns have been raised about cancer risks associated with the use of these products.
Just last month, warnings were issued by Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia after traces of excess ethylene oxide were detected in certain products from MDH and Everest.
Now, New Zealand Food Safety has also voiced its apprehensions. Ethylene oxide, found in these products, has been linked to heightened risks of breast cancer, DNA damage, as well as brain and nervous system impairment.
Previously, a batch of pharmaceutical raw materials originating from a Chinese company was deemed substandard, as the levels of ethylene glycol surpassed the prescribed limits.
In a significant move to curb the circulation of substandard pharmaceutical raw materials, Drape has declared a batch of raw materials produced by the Chinese company as substandard.
