"Ramadan Headache Woes: Understanding the Culprits Behind Caffeine, Sleep Deprivation, Blood Sugar, and Dehydration"

Hakeem Amjad Ismail shed light on the crucial aspects of headaches during fasting and their remedies during an ARY News program.
He emphasized that dehydration, low sugar levels, and insufficient salt intake during fasting can lead to a range of issues, including headaches, fatigue, muscle weakness, dizziness, decreased blood pressure, and heart rate fluctuations. Additionally, individuals may experience fainting spells and exacerbation of acute conditions like fever.
In the initial stages of Ramadan, headaches typically set in either before midday or around the times of both pre-dawn and post-sunset meals, disrupting focus and productivity, and leading to time wastage.

It's commonly believed that during Ramadan, headaches are more prevalent due to dehydration resulting from limited fluid intake, substantial depletion of blood sugar levels causing arterial stress, and reduced caffeine consumption, all contributing to heightened occurrences of headaches.
He emphasized that the primary reason for post-Iftar headaches is the consumption of excessive cold water on an empty stomach. To prevent headaches, it's advised to consume water in moderation during Iftar.
