The latest report from the World Health Organization (WHO) unveils a staggering statistic: Heart diseases claim the lives of 10,000 individuals daily in Europe.

In a statement released yesterday, the World Health Organization declared that heart diseases stand as the primary cause of 40% of fatalities in Europe, urging Europeans to cut back on their salt intake.
As per a report by the foreign news agency, WHO emphasizes that each day equates to 10 thousand deaths, translating to a staggering 4 million deaths annually. The predominant factor contributing to this alarming trend is often the excessive consumption of salt.
Hans Klug, the Director of the European branch of the World Health Organization, emphasized in a statement that a 25% reduction in salt intake could potentially rescue 9 million lives from heart diseases by 2030.
A spokesperson from the World Health Organization highlighted that excessive salt consumption in food elevates blood pressure levels, thereby amplifying the susceptibility to cardiovascular ailments like heart attacks and strokes.
The official further underscored that Europe bears the highest prevalence of individuals with high blood pressure globally. Moreover, men in the region face a mortality risk from heart disease nearly 2.5 times greater than that of women.
