“Newborn Baby Allegedly Sold by Hospital Over Unpaid Bills in Karachi”
Karachi, November 4, 2025 — A harrowing incident in the city of Memon Goth has surfaced, where a newborn baby was allegedly sold by staff at a private clinic after the parents failed to settle hospital delivery charges. The child has since been rescued and reunited with the family, and police have sealed the facility while investigations continue.
What Happened
According to the police complaint filed by the father of the child, the mother underwent delivery at a private clinic in Memon Goth when she could not afford the full cost of the procedures. The clinic’s doctor reportedly introduced a woman who claimed to assist poor families by covering medical expenses in exchange for newborns.
After the baby was born, the newborn boy was handed over to the woman, identified as a hospital employee. The father later discovered that the baby had been taken away and, after alerting police, the child was recovered from Punjab and returned to the parents.
