Record Boost: PM Shehbaz Sharif Thanks Overseas Pakistanis as October Remittances Soar Past $3.4 Billion
News Article:
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed deep gratitude to overseas Pakistanis after the country recorded over $3.4 billion in remittances during October 2025, marking one of the highest monthly inflows in recent years.
In a statement, the Prime Minister said the remarkable surge reflects the trust and love expatriates have for Pakistan, adding that their continued contributions play a vital role in strengthening the national economy.
“Overseas Pakistanis are our true ambassadors. Their hard-earned money supports not just their families but also contributes significantly to Pakistan’s financial stability,” PM Shehbaz remarked.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), remittances rose sharply due to increased inflows from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK, and the United States, with most funds channeled through official banking systems following the government’s recent measures to encourage legal remittance transfers.
Economic analysts view this growth as a positive indicator for Pakistan’s balance of payments and foreign exchange reserves, providing relief amid ongoing economic challenges.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to facilitate overseas Pakistanis, ensuring that their remittances are secure and that they are given priority access to government welfare programs and investment opportunities.
“This milestone is a testament to the faith of overseas Pakistanis in their homeland. Together, we can steer Pakistan towards a more prosperous future,” PM Shehbaz concluded.
